Positive Reviews

Within walking distance of Wellington highlights

This hostel is very well situated and easy to find, according to reviews. Guests state this is a top place to stay at when wanting to explore the city as it is within walking distance of the waterfront, bustling nightlife, and public transport stops.

Good standards of cleanliness & comfort

Before arriving, guests may have had low expectations as the property is a hostel, but they are typically surprised at how clean the common areas were. Not only were the bathrooms and shared kitchen in good shape, but the furnishings were comfortable enough to cover basic guest needs.

Free food is great for budget backpackers

Whether a visitor is a young backpacker or a budget traveller everyone appreciates the free meals offered at this property. Pancakes are freshly made each morning while drinks are available for purchase at the on-site bar.

Negative Reviews

Noise is an issue from many sources

Having a restful stay here depends on a lot of factors, most of which do not typically work in a guest’s favour. The bar area is open late and younger hostel guests can get rowdy. Being in the midst of so much nightlife tends to prevent people from getting enough sleep.

Wi-Fi not worth the extra cost

Getting online here comes with a daily fee. Most guests are annoyed this amenity isn't offered for free – as it is at many area competitors – and the poor quality of the signal further aggravates people.

Very basic accommodation

This hostel is described as offering very basic accommodation with no real frills to be found. As a result, guests felt it didn't provide as much value as other properties.
