About Hotel Casa Boccassini

Hotel Casa Boccassini is something rare in Venice; a hotel with its own lovely garden in which guests can relax and unwind. Located in the residential quarter of Cannaregio, the hotel is nevertheless just 700 metres from the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal and one kilometre from Piazza San Marco.

The 10 rooms are furnished in traditional Venetian style, with standard rooms including air conditioning, fan, and bath. Superior rooms also have a shower, TV and garden views.

Pets are welcome at Hotel Casa Boccassini and staff can help with tour reservations and tourist information.

A simple Italian breakfast and coffee is served either in the breakfast room, or in the garden.

The Bartolomeo Colleoni Monument, Basilica di San Giovanni e Paolo and Chiesa Santa Maria dei Miracoli are all within 300 metres, and the Santa Lucia train station is 20 minutes away via the Ca’ D’ Oro water taxi stop.

Positive Reviews

Cute courtyard to enjoy.

Those who have stayed at Casa Boccassini have all enjoyed the respite of the courtyard garden — a nice oasis of green amongst the water and tourist overload.

Safe, quiet spot, away from the crowds.

While the major tourist attractions are still easily reachable, the hotel is in a peaceful spot with lots of options for cheap eating, is close to vaporetto stops, and even to the ferries departing north to Murano.

Pleasant staff and rooms.

The polite and helpful staff and the overall decent rooms — which are clean and of a reasonable size — contributed to guests finding Casa Boccassini to be good value.

Negative Reviews

Basic breakfast not inspiring.

With the breakfast not being anything particularly special, and furthermore not being complimentary, some guests suggested to simply buy something from a patisserie instead.

Wi-Fi not always accessible in rooms.

Considering the Wi-Fi is just for the lobby, it is not surprising that access in the rooms can be hit-and-miss, but keep it in mind if you have to take care of work while travelling.

Hidden gem.

Like most places in Venice, this hotel can be a little hard to find, so make sure you take note of the directions before leaving home.
