Positive Reviews

Location is handy and offers lots to see and do

A great many visitors loved the fact that this hotel is set in an area where there are loads of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, as well as a host of markets, parks and lovely little teaware shops to explore. Many travellers appreciated having Ueno station (particularly handy for the Skyliner train to Narita Airport) so close by too.

Receptionists are extremely helpful

Numerous visitors have been won over by the level of care and attention proffered by the staff who man the reception desk. Evidently, these helpful guys and gals are more than happy to look things up, make calls to restaurants and book taxis to the airport on your behalf.

Pleasantly quiet at night

This hotel, like the area surrounding it, is - in general - pleasantly quiet at night time. Unsurprisingly, many guests (particularly those who stayed in more lively areas of this buzzing city) were very appreciative of this.

Negative Reviews

Reception is only open from 8am - 10pm

A significant number of guests have been less-than-impressed by this hotel's policy of closing the reception desk between 10pm and 8am. Travellers arriving in the middle of the night after long flights were, quite understandably, especially miffed.

Guest rooms don't get cleaned

It seems to be the case that guests staying here are expected to look after themselves in a ‘fully self-catering' fashion as no housekeeping/room cleaning services are provided unless you're willing to pay extra for them.  Needless to say, very few guests liked having to go down to reception to exchange their bed sheets, pillowcases and towels themselves.

Accommodations are pretty small

The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have noted that the guest rooms are, even by Japanese budget hotel standards, really pretty small.
