About Hotel Meigetsu

Nestled down a narrow backstreet 60 metres from the Sumida River, the Hotel Meigetsu hotel is a seven-minute stroll from Minami-Senju metro station. A shared kitchen and communal TV lounge are the biggest draws of this small, utilitarian hotel.

Compact, functional accommodations – some with bunk beds – feature wood floors, flat-screen TVs and desks. Guests are required to make use of shared bathrooms facilities.

The communal TV lounge has a PC with Internet access. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi and a coin-operated laundry facility.

Along with standard appliances, the shared kitchen provides a large fridge-freezer and free tea/coffee. Soft drinks (cans and bottles) are available from a vending machine. A smattering of cafes and restaurants are located within walking distance.

The Hotel Meigetsu hotel is an eight-minute walk from Senjuohashi train station and two miles from the revered Sens?-ji Temple. The Imperial palace is five miles away.

Positive Reviews

Staff members are just lovely

It has to be said that the people who keep this hotel ticking over are some of the cheeriest people you could hope to meet in Tokyo. As well as being infectiously friendly and very keen to impress, the staff members here have great local knowledge and spe

Extremely clean establishment

When it comes to measuring degrees of cleanliness there's clean and there's super-clean. This hotel most definitely falls within the super-clean category. Absolutely spotless throughout.

Very peaceful neighbourhood

Whilst the neighbourhood of Minami-Senju is blessed with its fair share of sights and shops, it is nowhere near as hectic or ‘full-on' as many other parts of the city. So, if you're looking for a peaceful little enclave removed somewhat from the

Negative Reviews

Beds aren't so comfortable

Like so many other hotels in Japan, this establishment perpetuates the notion that soft mattresses and hard pillows are a winning combination. Hint: they're not.

There are push-button showers

The showers in the shared bathrooms here are those push-button affairs that you see in sports centres and municipal swimming pools, i.e. the kind where you have to keep pressing the button every 15 seconds for the water to keep spraying. Irritating.

Walls are pretty thin

A great many visitors have drawn attention to the fact that the walls whichseparate the accommodations do very little to stop sound travelling between the guest rooms. Keep your ear plugs handy...
