Free metro shuttle bus is very welcome

Walking any kind of distance in sweltering Singapore - especially during the most humid months - is rarely an enjoyable experience. Thus, the provision of a free shuttle bus to Novena metro station is a real bonus!

Rooftop pool offers some great views

As well as giving you the chance to cool off (a necessity in this part of the world), the hotel's palm-fringed rooftop pool also affords you some pretty impressive views of Singapore's increasingly spectacular skyline.

Plenty to see and do in the local area

This hotel is located in quite a vibrant and interesting part of Singapore so there are plenty of shopping malls, restaurants, markets and street food stalls to enjoy close by.

Negative Reviews

Personnel could be more positive

Many guests have commented on the somewhat surly nature and general lack of urgency shown by some of the hotel staff. C'mon; how much effort does it take to muster a smile - even an insincere one..?

Rooms are small

Even by Singapore standards, the rooms at Value Thomson are pretty small. Suffice to say, the accommodations that don't have windows feel even more cramped. If you're someone who requires a lot of space to relax then this probably isn't the best option for you.

In-room air-conditioning isn't the best

Being so close to the equator means you really need to have decent A/C in your room most of the year in order to feel comfortable. Unfortunately, the A/C provision in this hotel is not as effective as it needs to be. Room for improvement.
