Positive Reviews

Friendly and inviting staff.

Employees at the hostel have a reputation for being friendly and inviting. Guests enjoy a warm welcome and are well looked after during their stay. It has also been commented that the staff does a good job of entertaining guests.

Pleasant, low-key atmosphere.

Guests were impressed by the low-key atmosphere at the hostel, commenting that they preferred the quietness over other party-themed hostels in Singapore. The hostel’s library and collection of artwork also received praise, as did the friendly cats.

Close to subway stations.

The hostel is situated between Farrer Park and Boon Keng MRT stations, with both less than ten minutes away on foot. Guests found this position to be convenient, with the stations making it easy to access the city centre.

Negative Reviews

Cleanliness could be improved.

Guests mentioned that the level of cleanliness at the hostel is not always up to scratch. In particular, guests complained that communal bathrooms often need freshening up, while the shared kitchen isn’t always in a state fit for cooking.

Simple breakfast a little too simple.

Guests are entitled to a complimentary breakfast each morning but few find these early morning arrangements to be satisfactory. Reviews mention that breakfast is limited to bread, jam and coffee, and that there is not always enough food to go around.

Poor Wi-Fi reception.

Accessing the internet proves frustrating for guests staying at the hostel. Guests have found that the free Wi-Fi is very limited and slow, especially when lots of people are in the hostel. Furthermore, it has been mentioned that sometimes it is not possible to connect at all.
