Positive Reviews

Good location

You will have downtown Shanghai within an easy walk from the hotel, the metro is also in the vicinity, and the French District is conveniently close by too. Guests did appreciate the amenities that surrounded the hotel, and those that didn't have their own vehicles with them didn't even notice.

Great for the budget

For those on a shoe-string budget, this hotel might just bring some relief to the pocket. Guests were quite impressed with the economically priced rooms, and felt that it was good for an overnight stay.

Good eateries close by

If you don't mind spending on lovely little cafes and coffee shops, then you may want to try the coffee shop next door. Guests say you will get a great cup of coffee and a choice of excellent pastries too.

Negative Reviews

Dated hotel

Many visitors found the facilities, as well as the building and rooms really dated and tired. The wallpaper in many of the rooms was peeling off, the building looked like it could do with some much needed maintenance, and rooms were not very modern.

Damp and mouldy

Complaints of smelly rooms due to dampness have been reported, as well as mould in many of the bathrooms. Guests also found stale cigarette smells in the non-smoking rooms along with old cigarette butts.

Awefull Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi is meant to be free of charge here, and guests were horrified with the service. It was almost impossible to get any work done via the hotel's Wi-Fi service provider, as it was down for the majority of guests' stays. If you do need to stay in touch with family and friends, try to bring your own cable to connect to the Internet.
