Positive Reviews

Like staying with a relative

This is not your typical bed and breakfast. In fact for many guests it feels like they're stopping over with their grandma, so much the lovely host takes care of them. She will do absolutely anything for you and makes you feel so welcome - treating you like a member of the family. Guests enjoy the pleasant chats they have with her and the advice she gives.

Great value

If you're looking for a comfortable stopover and not the height of luxury, you are likely to be very pleased with this guesthouse and its very reasonable rates. Guests like being in a quiet residential area with plenty of parking, yet being able to access the town relatively easily.

Generous breakfasts

The best part of the stay for many guests is the enormous Scottish breakfast that the landlady prepares each morning. Even if you have to get up early for a ferry, she'll make sure she's up too to prepare your breakfast, or at least some food for you to take with you.

Negative Reviews

Difficult to find

Guests frequently have difficulty locating the house as the streets are not signposted and every house looks identical. Even the latest sat-nav applications in their phones seem to be of little help.

A bit far out of town

Certain guests find the location of the guesthouse to be a bit too far out of town or away from the ferry terminal for them. It takes a good ten-minutes' walk or more to get there.

A bit of a strange concept

The whole idea of staying in someone's house and sharing a bathroom can be just a little bit too unconventional. Guests sometimes feel like they lack a bit of privacy and staying in a residential estate is just not quite right.
