Positive Reviews

Incredible location in downtown Manhattan

The big draw of this hotel is its proximity to Grand Central Station, just a short walk away, and many of New York’s high-profile attractions. Guests are delighted to be within walking distance of such famous sights as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and Times Square. Going further afield is simple too, with subways close by. There are also lots of eateries in the surrounding streets.

Wonderful bedrooms

Guests are pretty satisfied overall with the standard of their rooms. Contentment turns to pure joy though for those who find themselves with a view over the Empire State Building! The rooms are found to be relatively spacious and cosy too, with very comfortable beds.

Negative Reviews

Extra charges do not go down well

Being presented with extra fees that they weren't expecting confuses and irritates many guests. Many of them feel that the supplements are cryptic and designed simply to extract more money from them. The Destination Fee annoys guests the most as they claim they are forced to pay a supplement to use as credit towards on-site catering facilities. If they don’t, they simply lose it. This practice is seen as unfair and unethical by many.

Staff could be more pleasant

There are several instances highlighted by guests where they feel that the hotel’s personnel have fallen short. Many say staff come across as disinterested, or even impolite. It is suggested that much of this may be due to them being overworked and in a constant hurry. Guests, however, counteract that by saying that a smile and common courtesy do not cost anything.

Some inevitable traffic noise

Being in the heart of New York means that traffic is all around. Unfortunately that means that some rooms are affected by a constant din from passing cars.
