About South Beach

In Miami, South Beach is a Year-Round Fun and Sun Resort

South Beach is the ultimate Miami getaway destination where fabulous beaches come with a side order of restaurants, and memorable shopping. At night, you’ll see South Beach in another light with clubs, restaurants, and glamorous nightlife attracting tourists, locals and a smattering of celebrity. Next day, don’t let those bleary eyes stop you visiting the area around Ocean Drive with its stunning art deco themes. There are enthralling museums too, such as the Wolfsonian-FIU. This being South Beach though, there is a quirky side to life which even extends to some of its other museums.

Subtropical South Beach Always Puts a Spring in Your Step

This subtropical climate at Miami’s South Beach has massive visitor appeal throughout all seasons of the year. Apart from some weather variables, there can be greater ones relating to holiday costs. So, the March to May period is thought to be ideal, with the customary great weather as well as lower prices. During the June to November period, you should expect occasional irritation in the form of a hurricane breeze, but usually tempered by some lower price deals. With cheaper flights in mind, September is a particularly good month to visit, although there isn’t really a bad time to come to South Beach. Those cost and climate variations may influence your choice, so it’s worth taking time out to consider what the ideal time is for you. One thing’s for sure though; you really must visit South Beach soon.

You’ll Love South Beach; Just Come and See

Away from South Beach itself, you’ll come across Espanola Way where you can relax over a drink and watch the world go by. Then, essential shopping and retail therapy is at its best at Lincoln Road Mall where, on Sundays, there’s added appeal in the form of the Farmers Market. If you thought that museums were dull, a trip to WEAM, the World Erotic Art Museum, will blow your mind completely. Staggering back to the beach, try some beach yoga, alcoholic iced lollipop cocktails and stand-up paddle boarding. A sensible tip is to try the paddle boarding before embarking on the cocktails. Just like everything else here, they can be quite intoxicating. Then, starting with those on Collins Avenue, try sampling the vast range of South Beach restaurants.

South Beach Has Some Great Hotels; Make Sure You Get the Right One

The Collins Avenue area of South Beach is also a popular hotspot for hotels. One favourite is the 1 Hotel where four pools, a gymnasium, and restaurant choices make it a really tasty option. Then, there’s the aptly named South BeachHotel’s pool with resort and sea views. If you fancy a beachfront setting, take a look at Hotel W where facilities include two pools and Chinese and seafood themed dining. However, particularly if you are on a strict budget, do look out for the dreaded resort fee. This is charged by some, but not all hotels and it can make a significant difference to your end of stay hotel bill. If confused by the resort fee or, indeed, by any other aspect of your South Beach accommodation, a visit to trivago is sure to clarify things and set your mind at rest.
