Positive Reviews

Excellent location for shopping and sightseeing

Guests were perfectly happy with the location of the property. It was described as very close to two major Malacca malls, with great dining and other amenities in the immediate neighbourhood. Guests also felt they could walk to all the tourist attractions in the historic core, such as Dutch Square and Jonker Street.

Exceptionally helpful and polite staff

Guests couldn’t say enough good things about the staff. There seem to be two gentlemen who run the hotel, and they were both commended for being helpful and unfailingly polite when dealing with guests.

Clean and comfortable rooms

Guests were generally happy with both the comfort and cleanliness of their rooms. The housekeeping staff were said to do a good job, which allowed guests to relax and not worry about unhygienic conditions.

Negative Reviews

It’s very noisy outside

Guests reported that the immediate neighbourhood was very noisy, both day and night. The sound of cars was said to be a problem, but the biggest issue was that there is a night market nearby. This attracts a lot of people, and therefore noise. This could easily be heard up in the rooms.

Difficult to find parking in the area

The neighbourhood was said to be quite popular, especially at night when the market opens. Motorists returning to the hotel often found it difficult to find a free parking bay near the hotel. This was said to especially true on weekends.

No lift in the building

Guests unfortunate enough to be allocated a room on the top floor complained that the building does not have a lift. This meant having to haul luggage up and down several flights of stairs.
