Positive Reviews

Walking distance to the main attractions

Guests were very impressed with the location of the hotel. They mentioned that while it wasn’t right in the very centre of the city, popular areas like Jonker Street where within very easy walking distance. Also often mentioned was a food court that was located right across the street that provided tasty fare.

Excellent value for money

Guests were happy with the value for money they received. While the hotel was described as being on the older side, guests added that the room rates were very low, and that they could not have gotten equivalent accommodation at a new property in a similar location for anywhere near the rate they paid.

Terrific views

The hotel is said to be the tallest building in the city. It comes as no surprise then that many guests remarked on the impressive views to be had from their rooms.

Negative Reviews

Could do with a full makeover

This was by far the biggest complaint guests had. They described a hotel that was quite old, and that had perhaps not been renewed and renovated on a proper schedule. The result was that it now looked a bit down at heel and was in need of a full makeover.

Pool was not properly patrolled

Guests were a bit unhappy with the way the pool area was controlled, or rather not controlled. They mentioned that swimmers would often be wearing unsuitable attire for swimming, like being fully clothed in whatever clothes they were wearing before they decided go for a swim. It made them reluctant to use the pool.

No in room Wi-Fi

Guests were disappointed to discover that the Wi-Fi only worked around the reception area and in some of the restaurants. There was no access in the rooms at all.
