Positive Reviews

Great location close to Jonker Street

This was far and away what guests enjoyed most about the property. They said that the location couldn’t be beaten, since it was very close to Jonker Street, the historic street in Malacca that is also very much the centre of the city’s social scene.

Nice outlook over the river

The hotel was said to be right on the Malacca River, with rooms either facing this way or towards a local mosque. Guests in the river facing rooms were generally happiest, saying that they offered a lovely view out over the water, and even the chance to view the nightly musical fountains.

The rooms are quite spacious

Guests were very happy with the size of their rooms, indicating that they were more spacious than they had expected and that they had more than enough room to really stretch out.

Negative Reviews

Must climb staircase to the lift

Guests pointed out that, despite having a lift, the property is not suitable for people with serious mobility issues. They said that there was a flight of stairs that needed to be climbed before one got to the lift.

Substandard breakfast

It was very hard to find any kind words written about the breakfast offered at the hotel. The general consensus seemed to be that it wasn’t worth bothering with, since it offered a very limited range of foods, and even these were not very tasty.

Small parking lot

Going by the guest reviews and complaints, it seems that the hotel parking lot does not have enough bays for the number of guests who need them. Since the area is very busy and popular, motorists found it difficult to find suitable street parking if there was no parking available at the hotel.
