Positive Reviews

Guest rooms are surprisingly spacious

Being a boutique hotel (of sorts) in London, you would naturally expect the rooms here to be compact and bijou Not a bit of it: the Park Avenue Baker Street's guest bedrooms are refreshingly spacious Not massive by any measure, but refreshingly spacious all the same.

Location is ideal for sightseeing

You can't really fault the hotel's location, especially if you're a keen walker as even the likes of Abbey Road studios and Hyde Park are within power-walking distance And even if you're not a walker, the nearby Tube station and bus stops effectively put most of the city's key sights well within easy reach.

Showers are heavenly

Large, hot, powerful and clean: the showers here really are the business!

Negative Reviews

Hotel is split into two wings

The Park Avenue Baker Street is set within two separate buildings located on opposite sides of Gloucester Place (which is a busy London 'A' road) This means that, if you're staying in the wing without the reception or breakfast restaurant, you have to cross the A41 every time you need feeding in the morning or want to pick someone-in-the-know's brain.

Stairs are a bit precarious

Getting up and down the stairs can be a bit of a challenge here as, in addition to being quite narrow, the stairwells are also quite steep Suffice to say, this is not something that guests with mobility issues will relish Fortunately, the bellhop services mitigate some of this inconvenience.

Basement rooms aren't the best

Guests staying in these rooms have noted that localised engine-type noises and super-bright security lights conspire to make deep sleep an almost impossible prospect If you're a light sleeper and get allocated a basement room on arrival then you may want to ask for an upgrade.
