Positive Reviews

Very affordable.

The London Backpackers hostel offers affordable accommodations for visitors looking to stay north of central London for a short visit. Previous guests were pleased with the budget prices for the facilities offered. It is ideal for young travellers looking to for a low-cost place to sleep.

Convenient location.

It only takes one minute to walk to the Hendon Central Underground tube station and there are plenty of good food and coffee shops nearby. The hostel is easy to find and there are several supermarkets surrounding the area for cooking in the communal kitchen area. The area is busy but remains quiet and feels safe.

Good facilities.

Each bed in the dorm had an individual light and a curtain around it which made for a bit of privacy, as well as reducing the amount of light, making it easier to sleep. There are also personal lockers, lamps, USB and electrical outlets in each bed. Guests also receive access to self-service kitchen and laundry areas.

Negative Reviews

Not central.

Although the hostel location is convenient, it is not located near the city centre and is outside of London’s Zone 1.The Hostel is quite far north of central London trips to main attractions can vary from thirty minutes to an hour on the tube.

Small and unkempt bathrooms.

Previous guests were disappointed with the cleanliness standard in the shared hostel bathrooms. There is also a limited number of toilets and showers which may lead to longer wait times for the bathroom facilities when the hostel is crowded. The showers and toilets felt rather tight to some guests.

Stuffy rooms.

Several guests noted that the hostel rooms feel very stuffy and hot, especially in the warmer seasons. It is difficult to regulate the temperature in the rooms and some guests were inconvenienced by the hot room climate.
