Positive Reviews

A top-notch location...

Many guests choose the hostel for its location on a quiet street in Bayswater. Not only is the neighbourhood itself lovely (walking distance to Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Oxford Street, and much more) it's also well connected to the whole of London with three Tube lines within a short walk. Paddington Station is only ten minutes away, ideal if you are arriving from Heathrow.

Keep it private...

Guests who care not for luxury but do value their privacy generally find the private twin or double rooms with en suite facilities to meet all of their basic needs (comfortable bed, hot shower, a bit of elbow room) at a very competitive rate, especially given the upscale neighbourhood.

Friendly, attentive staff...

The front desk staff are often described as very polite, helpful, and welcoming. Guests appreciate the free Wi-Fi and small bar area in the lounge, and note that the continental breakfast, though very simple, is complimentary.

Negative Reviews

Packed in like sardines...

The biggest issue with the dormitory-style accommodations seems to be the size of the rooms; in some rooms the bunk beds are stacked in threes with little room to walk between, a particular issue when guests do not use the lockers for their things.

Shared en suite not so sweet...

Several guests note that the toilet and shower are not separated, an impractical layout for a bedroom that sleeps six (or more). Various plumbing issues have been reported also.

That will cost extra...

Several guests have been annoyed by the small fees for "additional" services like luggage storage and the deposit required for sheets, with which the guests are supposed to make up the beds themselves. Management staff have received a good number of negative reviews for indifferent responses to customer satisfaction issues.
