Positive Reviews

A quiet hotel in central London!

Not easily knocked, the hotel is clean, rooms are on the generous side, given the location; breakfast is substantial and of good quality and the area is quiet; so a good night’s sleep is on the cards.

Eating out options

Part of the fun of being in central London is the range of dining and drinking experiences to be enjoyed. Directly opposite, for instance, at The Leinster Arms, is traditional, well priced food, drink … and football on TV. More tips include The Black Lion and the Lebanese Restaurant on Queensway.

Easy access to Tube

You can walk to many central attractions but the Tube Station is very close so, one way or another, hotel guests can get to anywhere they wish and very easily.

Negative Reviews

Smells and noise

Being so near to the Tube is great. Having to listen to it from your bedroom doesn’t have the same appeal! Add to this, the noise coming from elderly lifts and tired rooms with an air of something that is definitely not English gentility and stays here are severely tainted.

Wi-Fi access

High speed internet access is highlighted for the use of visiting business guests, but, it doesn’t work! Slow and unreliable; these are reasons for commercial guests to ponder on the wisdom of staying here.

Wartime breakfast

Continental style breakfast is fine but opinion quickly divides when the hot choices include something resembling powdered scrambled eggs. This isn’t on at all; shame on you Even Henry VIII, centuries ago, would have had fresh eggs for breakfast!
