Positive Reviews

Close to Kota Kinabalu's Main Attractions

Within walking distance of Kota Kinabalu's waterfront and Jesselton Jetty areas and located directly in front of Gaya Street – which hosts the city's famous night market – new arrivals had nothing but good things to say about this property's overall location. Many also liked its proximity to the Filipino Market, the Wisma Sabah shopping mall and an outstanding selection of local restaurants.

Cool Comfort

In addition to its proximity to numerous shops and restaurants, at the end of a long day of sightseeing in Kota Kinabalu, guests found that this hotel offered a solid level of comfort. The beds are notably cosy, providing guests with a good quality of sleep.

Solid Wi-Fi Connectivity

As with its air conditioning, guests were also complimentary of the Wi-Fi service here. The network was good and satisfyingly strong; no reports of weak or wavering signal at this property.

Negative Reviews

Refurbishment Needed and Small Units

When it comes to appearances, this property was unfortunately something of a disappointment. There were consistent negative comments about this hotel's dated and just plain worn look, with many calling for a total refurbishment of the building. The standard of cleanliness here could also really do with improving, with guests finding rooms on the grubbier side. Finally, many found their quarters to be decidedly cramped and small.

Lack of In-House Eating Options

Kota Kinabalu itself may be awash with food stalls, restaurants and various eateries, but there was certainly a dearth of options in this hotel. Many – especially those who were hoping for a decent breakfast selection – were caught completely off-guard by this. It proved to be an inconvenience for those who really didn't want to leave the comfort of their rooms or the hotel in order to find something to eat.
