An Interesting Historical Setting.

This property is situated within a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, and guests were frequently delighted by the elegant characteristics of the hotel's public areas. Some guests commented that it made them feel like they had stepped back in time, but in a good way.

A Handy Base From Which to Explore.

Guests loved how most of Havana's attractions are within walking distance of this property. Also, there's a supermarket nearby, which is handy for stocking up on essentials. If you're in the mood to spend most of your time outside your room, this hotel puts you close to the action.

Live Music in the Lobby.

The hotel regularly hires musicians to play in the lobby throughout the day. Genres are varied, so it's almost certain you'll hear something that strikes your fancy. Furthermore, many of the performers sell their CDs, which is handy if you're looking for a memorable souvenir.

Negative Reviews

The Lifts Are Often Out of Order.

Guests who were staying on the hotel's upper storeys were often very frustrated that at least one of the hotel's lifts seems to be perpetually non-functioning. Even when there's one that's running, guests commented that it seems unreliable.

You Can't Count on the Lobby Toilet.

There is a toilet in the lobby, but, like the lifts in this property, it too is often not functioning. This downside was often annoying for guests who had arrived early and could not check into their rooms yet, or just didn't want to go all the way to their rooms to use the toilet.

Rooms Are Very Worn and Sometimes Unclean.

There were frequent comments that the rooms are in desperate need of upgrades. Guests cited cleanliness issues as well, including a cockroach problem.
