Remarkable heritage hotel

Guests had a truly wonderful experience and loved the beautiful interior and exterior designs of the hotel, the vintage architecture and loads of character. The antiques inside this beautifully restored building also got some attention, along with the peaceful setting of the inner courtyard. Overall, guests experienced a great heritage-like feel during their stay.

Location in Chulia Street

Travellers discovered that Chulia Street was one of the most important streets in Penang, It was just a short stroll from the hotel to many of the historic must-see sights such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the many street hawkers that come out at night. They also found some of the best street food in the area dotted along Chulia Street.

Breakfast was memorable

A variety of local delicacies was the highlight when it came to the free buffet breakfast. Visitors said the early morning meal was an excellent combination of English and traditional local dishes such as Nasi Lemak and the very popular Roti Canai. Several guests also recommended the famous "chicken rice".

Negative Reviews

Pool hours are limited

Visitors who were out all day and wanted to enjoy the pool at night were disappointed that it closed quite early. Those who did get a chance to enjoy the pool commented that it was rather small too.

Wi-Fi not reliable

There were a number of complaints about the Wi-Fi being slow. Guests who relied on a good signal said it was not stable or fast enough for them to work effectively.
