Royal is in the Newtown area of Singapore, but it is only five minutes on the bus to the famous shopping district of Orchard Road. Stay here and you have the city centre nearby without having to pay a city centre room rate.

Whether you need help with your luggage or need some assistance in your room, the people working here are always happy to help. Just ask any of the approachable staff members if you have a request.

It's not so often that you hear of a hotel providing outstanding free Wi-Fi, but at this hotel it's true. You can connect to the internet and have no problems streaming videos or playing online games.

The options at breakfast are too few and a bit bland, so you will probably find a much better morning meal in a restaurant outside of this hotel. Hopefully management will improve the breakfast soon.

Housekeeping is either overworked or not doing their job properly here, because often the rooms are still a bit dirty when you check in. If you arrive and find your room is dirty bring it straight up with reception and request to be moved.

Royal is falling behind the times and struggling to keep up with other more modern hotels in Singapore. Some essential maintenance and renovation work is necessary for this hotel to stay attractive.
