Review summary
Summarized by AI from 70+ reviews
The hotel offers an unconventional, rustic atmosphere, primarily defined by its direct integration with a traditional pub located below the guest rooms. This unique setup caters to a very specific type of budget traveler with minimal expectations, as well as event-goers seeking very basic, short-term accommodation, such as those attending football matches. Some cyclists also appreciate its down-to-earth nature. While a few guests find the integrated pub atmosphere appealing, the hotel is overwhelmingly characterized by its very dated appearance, shared facilities, and significant cleanliness issues. Many reviews highlight the uncomfortable beds and cramped rooms, which often lack basic amenities. To ensure a smoother stay, guests should be prepared for a highly basic and no-frills experience, including cash-only payments, and manage their expectations accordingly for a short duration.
