Along with its enviable location, this relaxed budget hotel boasts free Wi-Fi. Unfussy guest rooms with colourful decor and wood flooring feature flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee-making facilities. Some quarters have bunk beds. Air-conditioning comes as standard. Tourist advice and luggage storage services are proffered at the 24-hour reception desk. Laundry services (at a fee) are also available. Vending machines are the only on-site food option at this hotel. Numerous dining (and drinking) options are located very close by, including a convivial Chinese restaurant with a terrace right next door. Fragrance Balestier has bus stops right outside it and is a 17-minute walk from Novena metro station. The popular Orchard Road district is two-and-a-half miles away.

A great many visitors appreciated this hotel's location, set as it is in a lively yet charming neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, food centres, markets and shops. Some guests thought that the Novena metro station was a little far to walk (17 minutes), but this was mitigated largely by the fact so many city-bound buses stop right outside the property.
The vast majority of guests staying here had nothing but positive things to say about the cleanliness of their rooms, and indeed of the hotel's interiors in general. Evidently, this property rates hygiene very highly on its list of priorities.
Numerous visitors have observed how adept the hotel's customer-facing staff members are at meeting the needs of their visitors. In general, it was the ever-cheery and normally very proactive receptionists who garnered the highest praise.
The rooms here aren't just small; they're tiny. Definitely something to keep in mind if you're travelling with others.
Very few guests liked the fact that they could hear their neighbours talking, watching TV and/or entertaining themselves quite clearly through the walls.
The bathrooms within the accommodations don't have any kind of cubicle or enclosure to keep the water from going everywhere. Needless to say, most guests didn't like this as it leaves the floor persistently wet and makes the door lock rusty.
