Just like many backpacker lodging in Chinatown Eclipse Guesthouse is setup in a traditional shophouse, a two story building in a row with functional shops on the ground floor and separate residential spaces upstairs. These shop-houses drew inspiration from straits Chinese and European traditions. The building facade is typical post war architecture with long glass windows that open to the main street.
