Guests are attracted to the Suria City principally because of its ideal, central location. Right near Johar Bahru centre, all the city's attractions and restaurants are in close proximity.It is a perfect stopover for guests travelling to Singapore too, just directly opposite the city. Some guests comment on the stunning backdrop of Singapore they get from the hotel.
A few guests are at pains to point out that the Suria City Hotel is far from being a luxury hotel, but is not very expensive. You get what you pay for. If you just want a room for the night, somewhere central to put your head down, the Suria City offers great value for money.
Guests, on the whole, find the staff very accommodating and friendly. Although many seem to be students, they are found to be helpful, efficient and nice.
A large number of guests comment that the hotel is old. Not in a quaint, authentic way either. It is in serious need of renovation as it has been poorly maintained over the years and it shows. Fittings, doorhandles etc. are in a poor state of repair and often not working. Paint is peeling off the walls and it just seems to have a neglected feel about it.
Some guests find the hotel dirty and even smelly. The added extras int he rooms, such as ants and cockroaches, do not seem to be appreciated.
Some guests don't feel very at ease at this hotel. It is not in a very nice area and the parking is quite far from the hotel and not very secure. Single female guests could feel unsafe walking to the hotel alone. In the hotel itself, some guests don't feel any better as the hotel is dark and eery.
